First United Methodist Church - Festival Concert Series
Mark Hayes, Director Choral Workshop Concert
We are delighted to offer our third choral workshop for area choirs. Choir members will meet on Saturday during the day with noted pianist and composer Mark Hayes. Mr. Hayes' vocal and instrumental writing is widely accliamed and performed across the nation. He is well-known for his unique choral settings which draw from such diverse styles as gospel, jazz, pop, folk, and classical to achieve a truly "American Sound". His personal catalog includes well over 650 published original composition and arrangements.
In 2007 he marked his conducting debut at Carnegie Hall in New York City. At 7:30pm concertgoers will be privileged to hear the work of local musicians in a mass choir under the direction of Mark Hayes as well as hear him perform on our Steinway piano.
