Blue Water Chamber recognizes outstanding area businesses Annual meeting and business awards recognizes volunteers and businesses that go above and beyond Port Huron, MI, October 28, 2009: The Blue Water Area Chamber of Commerce held its annual meeting and business awards on Thursday, October 28 at Black River Golf Club.
About 130 members attended the mid-day luncheon and soon to be Past Chair, Marty Doorn recognized the 2009 board of directors and introduced the incoming 2010-2011 Board Chairman, Douglas Dolph, Physician Healthcare Network.
The event’s main sponsors, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and E&A Credit Union, recognized nearly 50 nominees and honored nine outstanding businesses and individuals chosen by their peers in the following categories.
During the event, St. Clair Travel Service held a trip raffle prize drawing which raised $330 for the Chamber and awarded the drawing winner, Mrs. Annette Marshall from Allegra Print & Imaging, with a 3 night stay at the Westin Kierland Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona.
In addition, Rose Norton, Norton’s Portraits of Distinction donated a large print of her new Bridged Art Series to drawing winner, Debbie Peeling, Fairfield Inn. Norton’s Bridged Art is available for purchase at the Chamber Business Welcome Center and 20% of all sales are donated to the Chamber’s Community Benefit Fund.
